Russo brothers decided the end of Avengers: Endgame before the plot of Infinity War
Although on many occasions we hear that it is better to start at the beginning, the directors of "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame" did not follow this advice when creating the story of these two films. The production of these films of the most powerful Heroes on Earth took place almost successively, one after another, and given how connected they are, they had creative processes that went hand in hand.
During a recent interview, directors Anthony and Joe Russo have recognized that when it came to tackling the plot of the two films, they really began the end of it all. They recognize that one of the first questions they decided was what would be the end of their films, the end of 'Endgame' because the outcome would help them to establish the path.
When we were working on Infinity War and Endgame, the first thing we did was to solve the ending of Endgame because we wanted to know where we were going as it is very difficult, says Joe Russo. So we had a very specific process with the writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely in which we spent months in a room talking about a three-page approach. Literally, page one acts one, page two is act two, page three is act three. Because you have to be able to say in a documented content like that: "Here is where we started, here is what happens in the middle, this is where it ends". If you know that, it's much easier to get to the script. A more malleable format to work on a short scheme like that, spend your time talking about it and thinking it over.
In that process of shaping history, they recognize that they did not take into account the expectations of the public, if not that they attended to their own instincts.
As much as we love the public - and we really love the audience, one of our favorite things about being a filmmaker is experiencing a movie we've done with a real audience - we do not really think about it as we create the story, "adds Anthony Russo.
Usually, we only think about our own reaction to the story we are telling. We use that as a meter for the decisions we must make, in terms of how we structure the story, where we spend our time, where we do not spend time. I would say that in general ... it is really our tastes and the emotional reaction that guides us through it.

Although a few weeks ago we knew that the "Avengers: Endgame" was finished, and therefore we said that the film was complete, there were still some nuances to be finished.
